Delete your Casamigo account
This page explains how to request deletion of your Casamigo account and the personal data associated with it. Casamigo AS ("Casamigo") operates the Casamigo mobile application and website connecting homeowners in Spain with independent service providers.
1. Delete your account from inside the app
The fastest way to delete your account is from the Casamigo app:
- Open the Casamigo app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account.
- Confirm the action. Your account is anonymised immediately and most personal data is removed within 30 days.
2. Request deletion by email
If you no longer have access to the app, email us from the address registered to your Casamigo account:
Include in the email:
- The email address and phone number registered to your account.
- Whether you used the app as a homeowner or service provider.
- A clear statement that you want your account deleted.
We respond within 30 days as required by GDPR Article 12. We may ask you to confirm your identity before processing the request.
3. What is deleted
- Account credentials (email, password hash, OAuth identifiers).
- Profile information (name, avatar, bio, address, phone).
- For providers: skills, portfolio photos, service area, ratings.
- Chat messages where you are a participant.
- Push notification tokens and device identifiers.
- Bids you have placed on jobs that have not been awarded.
- Saved payment methods (Stripe customer object is also removed).
4. What is kept and why
Some data is retained to comply with Spanish commercial, tax, and consumer-protection law, or to protect the rights of other users:
- Transaction records and invoices: retained for 6 years as required by Spanish commercial law (Código de Comercio art. 30) and tax law (Ley General Tributaria).
- Dispute evidence (photos, GPS check-in logs, chat excerpts): retained for 2 years after the dispute is closed, to defend any party against later complaints or chargebacks.
- Anonymised reviews and ratings you left for other users: retained without your name attached, to preserve the integrity of the marketplace for other users.
- Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics: retained indefinitely. This data cannot be used to identify you.
- Backups: personal data is purged from rolling backups within 90 days.
5. Other rights
Under GDPR you can also request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es). See the full Privacy Policy for details.
